WEST YELLOWSTONE- It's been three weeks since the fatal grizzly attack in Yellowstone National Park and Montana's News Station's Adam Bell went to the park earlier this week to find the latest on the investigation.

"The investigative process we're doing very frugally and very diligently because it has been our first attack in 25 years," Yellowstone National Park spokesman Dan Hottle explained.

Park officials are still doing everything they can to find out all that happened three weeks ago.

"We do have the 911 tapes, we're reviewing those to establish a better timeline of the events that day. We're also hoping to re open the Wapato Lake Trail along the South Rim Drive near Canyon Village," Hottle told us.

Once the investigation is completed, park officials will spread the information to the public, allowing everyone to learn from these tragic events.

"We can tell people how did this attack happen, we can let folks listen to the 911 call and what was said," Hottle commented.

While many are concerned about hiking trails in the park after the attack, everyone seems to be better prepared, carrying the supplies necessary if they do encourter a bear.

"I did go and buy bear repellant and I stocked up on some ammunition for my handgun. I'm not anticipating on seeing any bears, my uncle has been here three times and has not seen a bear, but it's better to be safe than sorry," park visitor Ian Dolly commented.

"I think it created a great awareness that we are in a wild area, we do have to respect the black and grizzly bear that live in Yellowstone, and so we as a park were able to help spread more information about bear safety," Hottle stated.

And by spreading bear safety to everyone, perhaps something positive can come out of this tragedy.
