BOISE, ID- A woman who was at the center of a domestic violence incident in Hyalite Canyon near Bozeman last summer has been found dead in her home in Idaho near Boise State University.
According to KTVB in Boise, the death of Natalie Davis, 30, has not been ruled a homicide, but has been called suspicious by detectives. KTVB reports that Davis was found dead inside her home on March 5, her body partially burned.
A felony warrant has been issued for Lloyd McNeil, 31, but police have not confirmed if McNeil is a person of interest in Davis' death, according to KTVB.
McNeil was arrested in July 2010 after he reportedly assaulted Davis, his fiancée at the time, while they camped together in Hyalite Canyon. According to court documents, the couple was arguing when McNeil grabbed Davis and pulled her into a tent, preventing her from leaving then choked her, hit her in the face and hit her on the hip with a flashlight.
A couple days later the couple was heading back to the campsite when McNeil reportedly became upset again. The woman told authorities she told McNeil to pull over and when he did he grabbed her own and the hood of her jacket and pulled her back into the car.
The woman flagged down three bikers who were coming down the road. When she stopped them and told them she needed help McNeil drove away, according to court documents.
McNeil was charged with assault with a weapon, partner family member assault and unlawful restraint in the July incident. He was granted permission to leave Montana in an order signed by Gallatin County District Judge Mike Salvagni.
The order dated Jan. 3, 2011 modified bail conditions so that McNeil could leave Montana to go live and work in San Diego, California until his trial on the charges.
Court records show that McNeil was to contact pre-trial services as well as his attorney by phone on a weekly basis, but he failed to contact pre-trial services on Feb .28 and March 7.
McNeil's trial on the charges in Gallatin County is scheduled to begin on April 19.
