WHITEFISH - A local man died and two others were taken to the hospital after an early Tuesday morning accident.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports a 46-year-old male was driving his Jeep west on Beaver Lake Road around midnight Tuesday when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The jeep then ran off the road and overturned, ejecting the driver and pinning him under the vehicle.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene while the two passengers in the Jeep were taken to North Valley Hospital.

The driver and one passenger were not wearing their seat belts. Authorities say that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
