MISSOULA - The next several days are going to be downright gorgeous. And those of you who have been itching for spring will want to get out and take advantage of the beautiful weather!
We started off on the chilly side this morning, but with plenty of sunshine we'll warm up rather quickly. Our afternoon temperatures will top out in the upper 40s to low 50s. A ridge of high pressure over the Western United States will bring us clear skies today and into the night.
On the one hand, clear skies will give us another chilly morning tomorrow with lows in the 20s. On the other hand, it will give us the chance to glimpse the Aurora Borealis tomorrow morning! A strong solar storm has been going on the last day or so and that should amp up the Northern Lights giving us a shot at seeing the beauty.
As we head into the weekend, things are looking great for everyone to get outdoors and soak up some of the sunshine! Friday and Saturday, we'll warm up even more than today with highs in the 50s and even the low 60s in the Bitterroot Valley.
High pressure continues to dominate our weather pattern on Friday bringing plenty of sunshine to the Pacific Northwest. On Saturday, our cloud cover will increase a bit as a low pressure begins its approach from the west. We're still looking at partly cloudy during the day however.
Sunday is when we start to see a few changes. The models are bringing a low pressure system, but at this time it still doesn't look overly impressive. We've got the chance for rain in the valley during the day.
The timing of the cold at this time still looks to be late in the day, giving us the chance to warm up into the upper 40s and 50s. The early part of next week, we cool down slight back into the mid 40s to low 50s and we set up a more unsettle weather pattern.
