MISSOULA - It's a chilly start to the workweek with Monday morning temperatures in the teens and low 20s, watch out for some early morning freezing fog too. High pressure building over the Northern Rockies today will bring a nice mix of clouds and sun, and daytime highs will sit in the upper 30's with overnight lows in the mid 20's.
Starting Tuesday night into Wednesday we will see moisture build from the Northwest bringing another chance of precipitation. The impact to valley locations will be minor, although a mixture of rain and snow showers on Tuesday night could make for icy driving conditions early Wednesday morning.
With this system higher terrain and mountain passes will see light to moderate snow. Accumulation between 1-3'' is possible for Lookout, Lolo, and Marias passes. Gusty winds are also expected Tuesday into Wednesday for higher elevation.
By Thursday evening we will see drier conditions with high pressure building over the region. We will continue the drying trend Friday into Saturday morning. The high pressure means we will also see warmer temperatures by the end of the week sitting in the 40's across most valleys.
Another system will move our way starting late Saturday into Sunday, although it doesn't look like it will bring much precipitation to the region.
