HELENA- Vann's announced on Tuesday that its Helena store will close on March 4th.

"This was a very difficult decision for our company to make, but we are facing multiple challenges in the Helena market. The retail climate right now is definitely an issue. Combined with that, our store model doesn't suit the market," Vann's CEO Rob Standley said.

Vann's expanded into Helena with a store originally located on Cedar Street in 1987, and in 2008, the store moved to its current location on Cromwell-Dixon.

"Unfortunately, with the economic downturn and the new direction for the in-store experience for shoppers, we didn't see the growth or stability we needed in Helena," Standley noted.

"We've built relationships over the years with a number of people in the Helena community, and we want to respect that. We intend to fulfill all of our commitments to our customers,"Vann's Director of Retail Gerry Demple added.

Demple encourages customers who have concerns to call (406) 442.4500 and the company is also referring all service needs to current service partners in Helena. More information can be found at www.vanns.com/HelenaInformation.

Inventory liquidation begins at the store February 9th and the scheduled close date is March 4th.
