KALISPELL - The U.S. Highway 93 North alternative truck route, also known as the bypass, is slowly becoming a reality in the Flathead as crews continue to work on several different sections around the Kalispell area.
Construction is currently underway from south of the Four Corners area to Appleway Drive, which explains the construction that drivers must pass through on U.S. Highway 2 West.
According to the Montana Department of Transportation that construction is right on track and the next major phase of along U.S. Highway 2 is entering the final design stage and continuing right-of-way acquisition.
That project will continue the two-lane bypass from the signal with U.S. Highway 2 to U.S. Highway 93 at West Reserve Drive.
Part of the project calls for Two Mile Drive and Three Mile Drive to be be reconstructed so that the roads can cross above the bypass on two new bridges.
