WHITEFISH - The beautiful backdrop of western Montana has drawn the attention of a national television show for the last few days, which rumor holds is ABC's reality dating show "The Bachelor." Hollywood news websites are reporting the show is filming a date episode scheduled to air in January.
Whitefish resident Tara Nelson said town has been busy. "I think it's kinda crazy, no parking spots, I'm curious about how it's going to affect business as far as local merchants, like Amazing Crepes," Nelson said. "But all in all I think it's great. It's nice to get some limelight, our 15 minutes of fame."
The show has been filming in Whitefish for the past few days, and will feature a special concert Wednesday at 9 p.m. featuring new country music singer Sarah Darling.
Lisa Jones, with the Whitefish Visitor Bureau, said the buzz is about a "major network TV shoot."
"So it's kind of a bonus that we all get to enjoy a little music, while we're basically focusing on our main objective, and that is focusing on our TV show."
The episode's location is a result of hard work from local and state organizations to promote Whitefish.
Tonight's concert is scheduled to start at 9pm on Central Avenue in Whitefish, and the show will be filmed during the concert.
Kimberly Halkinrude was visiting from Portland, Ore. "I think it's cool they came all the way to Montana. I am from out of town, I am just visiting, and I'm a huge "Bachelor" fan, I watch every season of "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette," so I'm excited to see them tonight."
