KALISPELL- This week's sudden cold weather left behind an unpleasant surprise for dozens of Kalispell residents.

Water Works and Lawn Irrigation reports they were busy all Friday on service calls to help fix sprinkler systems that froze overnight.

Owner Kim Torgerson told us he's never seen this many frozen systems this early in the year, adding that it's not a good idea to skip winterizing your sprinklers.

"Just the cost of the cap is about $25 and then the service call to come out and fix them. And a lot of the inserts have been breaking too, which is another $1 part, so it could be $50-$100 for a service call to come out and fix them."

Many of the calls have been coming from residential areas along Three Mile Drive.
