HAMILTON - The Ravalli County Sheriff's Deputy said no bullet has been found in the body of a horse reported to have been shot.

A Hamilton couple found their 22-year-old retired racehorse dead in its pen with a hole behind one ear, but Deputy Ron Holton said an X-ray of the horse turned up no bullet.

Without any evidence to suggest the horse was shot, the deputy says there are a variety of other possibilities that could've contributed to the horse's death.
