POLSON- The Lake County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident of a mutilated cow found near Polson.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department says the "non-natural" death occurred in the Valley View area of Lake County.

Deputies learned about the incident on Saturday morning and believe the killing took place on Wednesday.

Some of the animal's meat and organs were removed but there is no evidence of how the killing took place.

Samples were collected and sent to a Colorado lab for further investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at (406) 883.7309
