MISSOULA- A Missoula man is facing a felony charge of forgery after police say they busted his counterfeiting money operation on Idaho Street.
Prosecutors said witnesses said Kyle David Huetter, 22, made about $1,000 in counterfeit $50 and $100 bills. He then had people use them at Missoula businesses and while some business noticed the money was fake, others didn't.
Witnesses also told investigators Huetter planned to use the money to buy drugs, and that he ripped off a drug dealer by giving him fake money for pot.
Prosecutors say Huetter bleached out $5 and $10 bills and reprinted them as $50s and $100s.
Two other people are accused of helping him in the scheme. Huetter is in Missoula County Jail on $10,000 bail.
