MISSOULA - Good news for art history lovers in Missoula. A Picasso masterpiece is in town and on display at the University of Montana.
In the President's office hangs two of the famous Pablo Picasso's works of art. One is an original painting called "head of a woman" from Picasso's blue period. The painting is accompanied by a Picasso lithograph from the Montana Museum of Art and Culture.
"We hope for that sort of wow moment for people, that "ahha" but we hope it's a window into a world of really world class art. How that tells the stories of history, how that tells us who other people are and how they live because that's what art can do for everyone," said Barbara Koostra, MMAC Director at UM.
Picasso's art will be on display in Main Hall through August 22.
Koostra says more Picasso pieces will be coming to campus in October.
