Officials watch for Northwest Montana flooding

KALISPELL- Flathead County Emergency Management Services Director Scott Sampey tells Montana's News Station that they are concerned about three areas in the Flathead for flooding as of Monday morning.

They are observing Ashley Creek, Trumble Creek near Columbia Falls and the Stillwater River. Sampey told us that the water is at the banks in those locations.

Governor Brian Schweitzer will be making a visit to the Flathead later this week to assess the flooding situation.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Thompson River in Sanders County where as of Monday morning the river was at 7.2 feet, which is slightly above flood stage. Minor flooding was being reported in the low lying areas adjacent to the river. Flooding also affects homes in the community of Snider.
