KALISPELL - Members of the LGBT community in Flathead have a new place for support and comraderie. In June, the Flathead Valley Gay Alliance opened a community resource center downtown.
Members of the community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, can find services including support groups, information services, game nights, family movies and more at 17 Second St. E., suite 205. Office hours are roughly 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays, and in the evenings for special events, according to a press release.
The Flathead gay alliance, which has met for more than 20 years, recently applied for 501(c)3 non-profit status. The new community center is "a labor of love," according to the press release.
