BILLINGS - Hundreds of neglected horses in the James Leachman case are rounded up east of Billings. Bureau of Indian Affairs Rocky Mountain Regional Director Ed Parisian says the Crow Tribe corralled about 762 horses Monday.

He says they seem to be in good shape, and one horse had to be looked at by a vet for an abscess on his hoof. Montana Department of Livestock officials will come out on Thursday and a joint effort will begin to catalog the horses based on their brand and gender.

Parisian says that a notice will be posted on Friday for the owner to pick up the horses and pay for expenses within five days. Once that time expires, the horses will go to auction.
