A Montana couple wants to go on the adventure of a lifetime, by paddling a kayak from Montana to the Pacific Ocean.

Lorie Hoffman and her husband Charlie Capp want the water to take them on one incredible journey, and they are raising money on a website called Kickstarter for their Summit To Sea adventure.

Hoffman says the 1,100 mile journey starting in Stevensville will take them on a series of rivers to the ocean. The couple was inspired to pursue the trip because of the beauty of the Bitterroot River running through their family's ranch.

"I think for him there's a bit of restlessness," Hoffman said about her husband. "The river being in a way of standing for life in general. He's been watching this since he was young and been wanting to go on that river and see what's past there. It's a pretty incredible journey to go from a tiny ranch in Montana all the way to Portland and all the way out to the ocean."

The trip is dependent on raising $8,500 by the end of the month with Hoffman saying the money will go to purchasing supplies for a safe trip.
