A man died after losing control of his Subaru along Interstate 90 in Missoula on Monday evening. The Montana Highway Patrol reports the driver was headed west on I-90 near mile marker 100 when witnesses saw him fishtail before losing control. The victim then crossed the median and rolled across the eastbound lanes. Authorities say it appears the man, in his 30s, was wearing a seat belt. He died of injuries at a Missoula hospital.

A man from Belt was killed in a rollover accident over the long holiday weekend while an older couple died in a head-on crash which happened in Paradise on Saturday.

Police in Butte are investigating a fatal highway shooting that they believe may be self-inflicted. Butte-Silver Bow Police Captain Doug Conway says the incident happened around 4:30 Monday afternoon, about a mile south of the junction of Interstate 90 and Interstate 15. A Montana Highway Patrol Trooper says he was in the process of making a traffic stop of a pick-up truck when the shooting took place.

The U.S. Marshals Service's Montana Violent Offender Task Force is looking for Gary James Lamere of Great Falls, based on a felony warrant charging him with Criminal Endangerment. The subject of this week's BOLO Alert has several convictions out of Butte-Silver Bow County, including weapons and theft charges. Authorities arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a three hour long hazardous materials ordeal with a suspicious package in the Missoula Police Department parking lot. Haz Mat technicians determined the package to be an Ice Tea container with some sort of liquid in it, but that liquid, ice tea or not wasn't a threat. The Missoula Police Department says the man who dropped the box off later arrived on scene to confess, and was taken to a hospital for an evaluation after the Monday incident. He will be cited according to police.

A pair of Montana teens who were texting in search of some marijuana got the wrong number. Seriously wrong as they wound up messaging the local sheriff, and he messaged right back. "They were one number off," Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton told CNN. "Luck of the draw." Dutton said the 15- and 16-year-old boys mistakenly sent him a text message on August 25 that read, "hey dawg, do you have 20 i can buy right now?" At first, Dutton said he "thought it was a joke" but decided to continue the conversation by replying, "how much we talking?"
