Missoula native Andrew Sopko was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft, the 435th overall pick.

The 6'2," 185-pound right-handed pitcher was a multi-sport standout at Loyola Sacred Heart School.

Sopko played for the Missoula Mavericks during the 2011 American Legion baseball season. He is currently signed to play baseball at Gonzaga University.
