MISSOULA- A former Missoula Food Bank volunteer is being credited with landing a $30,000 grant for the organization.
Walmart's "12 Days of Giving" Facebook campaign asked users where they wanted the $1.5 million in funding to go in their communities.
And out of 5,400 nominations, the Missoula Food Bank was chosen based on a former volunteer submission.
Missoula Food Bank Community Relations Director Jessica Allred says the food bank didn't apply for the grant so they were shocked when they heard the news.
"This was a really interesting grant. It was through a nomination process through Facebook. Our community came through and nominated Missoula Food Bank we were granted the award based off that nomination."
Allred added the money will go toward purchasing food and told us this is a fantastic time to hear some really great news.
