MISSOULA- Incumbent Missoula County Commissioner Jean Curtiss filed her paperwork to run for re-election at the Missoula County Courthouse on Friday.

"We are facing challenging issues. The lack of good jobs and need for targeted economic growth confronts all of us; we must find solutions for growing levels of poverty and substance abuse in our communities; and we must meet head on the increased demand for public services despite stretched budgets," Curtiss said in a prepared statement.

Curtiss has served as a Missoula County Commissioner since 2000 and was reelected in 2006. She has lived in Missoula's Westside neighborhood with her husband since 1977 in the house her grandmother purchased in 1935.
