MISSOULA - The Missoula Fire Department is waiting for private insurance company investigators to come in and work with them in determining the cause of Monday's fire which destroyed several Missoula businesses.
Missoula Fire Investigator Dax Fraser tells us they turned the building over to its owner and that the owner had a company board up the windows and condemn the building because it's unsafe.
The fire broke out Monday just after 4:30 a.m. and when fire crews responded to the scene, flames were shooting through the roof.
The fire caused the roof and the second floor of the building to collapse. Fraser says they still don't know the cause of the fire, but they think it may have started on the second floor.
