ENFIELD, CT - There's been a multi-million dollar drug heist from an Eli Lilly storage facility in Enfield, Connecticut, about halfway between Hartford, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts.

The large, non-descript, brown building is back in the woods in Enfield and serves as a transportation hub of sorts for prescription drugs for drug company Ely Lilly.

Someone broke in over the weekend by cutting a hole in the roof and repelling inside, stealing somewhere between $50 million and $75 million dollars in drugs, the largest theft in the town's history.

Police were still collecting evidence and trying to figure how much of what drugs were stolen on Monday night, but sources close to the investigation say about 70 pallets of prescriptions were taken.

Police say the thieves probably left out the back door and needed at least one semi tractor trailer, and maybe even two, to get the drugs out.

Officials say the thieves knew what they were doing and that it looks like the heist was pulled off by a "well organized and large operation" according to Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza.
