MISSOULA- Local authorities say that the subject of this week's BOLO Alert put out by the U.S. Marshals Service on Monday is wanted in connection with a pair of recent Missoula burglaries.

Missoula County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Jason Johnson says that Brent Ray Nelson pawned some of the missing items from the burglaries at Melotz Trucking and Northwest Tower at a pawn shop in Bozeman.

Johnson says that "diligent detective work" led to the breakthrough and that Nelson may have also pawned items in Missoula that he had stolen from Cascade County.

While a warrant from Missoula County is under review, Johnson says Nelson has an active, no bond warrant from Powell County for Larceny and a $10,000 warrant out of Lewis & Clark County for Burglary.

Nelson is also currently wanted by the US Marshals Service Montana Violent Offender Task Force and Montana Probation for a probation violation.

He has numerous theft and burglary convictions out of several Montana counties, including Flathead, Missoula and Ravalli counties dating as far back as 1991.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Nelson to call 911.
