HAMILTON- A logging project is starting up next week in the Bitterroot National Forest near Florence and travelers are being advised to be on the lookout for an increase in traffic as the work gets underway.
The Bitterroot National Forest's Tod McKay reports the work will be happening in near Sweeney Creek, south of Florence on the Stevensville Ranger District and will last until March.
Travelers are advised to drive with extra caution as there will be machinery and log trucks travelling the roads during the weekdays and on weekends.
Forest officials are shutting down Sweeney Creek Road #1315 to the public at the U.S. Forest Service boundary as a safety precaution.
McKay says the hauling will be restricted in the early morning and afternoon during school bus hours. For more information contact Pat McKinnon at the Darby Ranger District at (406) 821.3913.
