Katy Harris joined the KAJ news team in September of 2010 reporting and sometimes anchoring the Flathead Valley focused newscast.

Katy is a native of Nebraska, and her father's job in law enforcement moved them to Oklahoma, Washington State and finally Montana, where she grew up in Whitefish and graduated in 2004. Soon thereafter she ran off to California to play collegiate basketball at a Junior College and received athletic and academic scholarships to play at a private college outside Omaha, Nebraska. She never set foot on the basketball court at her private school due to herniated discs in her lower back and hung up her jersey.

She then transferred to the University of Montana where she studied broadcast news and graduated in May 2010.
She worked in radio through college as an on-air personality until joining the KAJ family because she felt TV was the next step.

She enjoys spending time at Northwest Montana's lakes and rivers in the summer and going for rides on the back of motorcycles, although she can drive one herself.
