KALIPSELL- The Kalispell School Board spent about a year trying to decide how to best respond to increased enrollment and overcrowded classrooms at the elementary level.
The board voted last week to add eight new classrooms and a multi-purpose room to two of the district's existing elementary schools at a cost of about $2.3 million, and a "request for bond" mail-out ballot to the community this fall.
Voters approved an elementary levy in May, which will pay for at least half of the full-time teaching positions needed to fill the new classrooms.
