KALISPELL- Monday night, Kalispell City Council will consider the contract for hiring Doug Russell from Yankton, South Dakota to take over as Kalispell's new city manager.
Since Jane Howington resigned from the position in early January, and in the meantime, Kalispell City Attorney Charlie Harball has had to take over.
Harball says he's relieved to have Russell step in and lighten his work load.
"It will be nice to go back to the job that I'm hired to do. I enjoy working with the city manager on it. They can deal with the politics of things and I can deal with the law things."
Monday night council should approve Russell's contract and his first day of work is set for June 18th.
