KALISPELL - Additional information was released Sunday night about a murder in the Flathead. Kalispell Police say they have arrested two men in connection with the death of 49-year old Wesley Collins.
Police says the murder happened during a robbery over medical marijuana. Kalispell police have arrested two Flathead Valley residents, 21-year old Robert Lake and Jeffrey Nixon, 19.
Authorities say they received a tip Saturday at 4:30 p.m. that Collin's body was dumped in a remote wooden area northwest of Kalispell.
Investigators say the homicide happened during a robbery when medical marijuana was being shared by the three individuals.
It appears a medical marijuana cardholder was providing the drug to the others and we're told the investigation is ongoing.
The body of the victim will be transported to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy
The Kalispell Police Department is investigating a homicide case, after finding the body of a Kalispell resident in a remote wooded location.
The Major Case Unit learned of the homicide on the northwest side of Kalispell, but they aren't saying just yet where the body was found.
Flathead County Sheriff's Department deputies and members of the Northwest Drug Task Force helped process the crime scene and located three possible suspects, taking them into custody for questioning.
Authorities say that two of the suspects are from Kalispell and the third is a resident of Marion. Kalispell police say they aren't sure of the motive for the killing, but say illicit drug activity was involved.
The body of the victim will be transported to the State Crime Lab in Missoula so that an autopsy can be performed.
