MISSOULA- The Montana Board of Regents has felt compelled to address the status of University of Montana quarterback Jordon Johnson after a torrent of rumors and speculation on social media.
A statement from Associate Commissioner of Higher Education Kevin McRae released Monday says: "Jordan Johnson is enrolled as a student at the University of Montana. He completed spring semester. He is not enrolled for summer session or taking summer courses, but he is pre-enrolled for fall semester. He is on the UM football roster, which means he is academically eligible and in ‘good standing' as an enrolled student."
It became an issue when a Missoula newspaper reporter tweeted on Saturday that Johnson had been expelled. That tweet quickly spread, but Montanan's News Station did not report the rumors.
Johnson was accused in March of sexual assault and has not been charged with a crime with Johnson's attorney has denying the allegation.
