Jim Lynch officially enters MT gubernatorial race

KALISPELL- Republican Jim Lynch officially announced his entrance into the Montana gubernatorial race Monday.

Lynch said in a news release that he will announce his Lieutenant Governor choice, Dr. Al Olszewski at Flathead Orthopedic at 6 p.m. on Monday evening.

Dr. Olszewski is an orthopedic surgeon, former Air Force Major and serves as President of Flathead Orthopedics.

The former head of the Montana Department of Transportation said back in October that there needs to be a "sense of urgency" to solve Montana's problems.

Lynch also said at the time that his focus would be on economic development and job growth for Montana.

"We have ensnared ourselves in the ‘way things are done' instead of addressing the problems of the state with common-sense solutions and a sense of urgency," Lynch said. "I've demonstrated an ability to transform organizations both in private business and complex public-sector organizations, and look forward to applying similar disciplines across state government to address the critical issues facing Montanans."

Lynch has 25 years of private-sector executive experience.
