KALISPELL - The Highway 93 Bypass project is in full swing and officials with the Montana Department of Transportation say that everything is running right on schedule.
Three phases of the project are currently underway. The first is on U.S. Highway 93 near Gardener's RV to Airport Road. The second is from north of Airport Road to the intersection of U.S. Highway 2, including a roundabout at Foy's Lake Road. And the final project is the widening of U.S. Highway 2 where the bypass will intersect. That third project is the one that is causing traffic delays on U.S. Highway 2.
MDOT' engineer Ed Toavs says despite the weather, they are pleased with progress so far.
"You know as far as the progress, there's been a lot of work that's been accomplished on especially the two main jobs, the earlier jobs, so you know, if people go out there and take a look at that, they'll see that the landscape has changed quite a bit."
Toavs added that where the 93 Bypass construction spills over oto U.s. Highway 2 near Appleway Drive, drivers can expect delays over the next few months while work crews complete that portion of the job.
