The May assault on a Great Falls Realtor has prompted the Great Falls Association of Realtors to take extra precautions.

The association asked Crime Prevention Expert Andrew Wooten to give a seminar about Realtor safety.

An event Sunday focused on family safety, a workshop Monday is for Realtors only and focuses on Realtor safety.

Association's president, Jim Dae says this class is just a reminder but also about teaches how to implement new self safety policies and procedures.

He said, "So the first time we meet with somebody we ask for a photocopy of their drivers license and we ask our agents to meet them in the office first. Don't meet them in a strange place, get to know them as your leaving that office mention to another Realtor where you're going in front of that person."

In May, Bradley Crisman was charged with sexual Intercourse without consent, aggravated kidnapping, and assault with a weapon for tying up and assaulting a Great Falls real estate agent.

Sunday's workshop stressed communication.

Dae says the key is knowing how to avoid putting yourself in a dangerous position and advises to keep a phone on you at all times.
