BILLINGS- A local fundraiser to help pay for the funerals of two murdered Billings women has raised nearly $2,000 and has put more than $8,000 in the pockets of people who sold their old, broken or "out of style" gold.
21-year-old Daisy Edwards and 22-year-old Rose Edwards were found stabbed to death at the Ponderosa Acres Apartment Complex on Sunday January 29th. The suspect, 20-year-old Andrew Denning faces two charges of deliberate homicide.
As of Friday night, the Party of Gold Company will pay out $1,237 to the Edwards Family Fund in addition to another $680 in donations from community members, and there are two more opportunities to take part.
Gold is at an all-time high, and people who bring in their old gold and silver are taking home checks from Party of Gold.
This is how it works:
People who bring in their gold, broken, out of style, "old boyfriend," "ex-husband," single earring, class rings etc. and Party of Gold is there to test, weigh and hand them a check right on the spot. People can bring 10k, 14k, 18k, 24k, platinum, sterling silver jewelry, flatware, bowls, tea sets, platters and coins 1964 and earlier. Party of Gold writes a check for the value of the precious metals and then the company will donate 15% of the total amount back to the Edwards family.
There are two more opportunities on Saturday to take part. For more information you can contact Tiffany or Ella. You can also learn more about Party of Gold by clicking here.
