WEST GLACIER- Glacier View Golf Club in West Glacier geared up for the summer tourism season early this year, opening its green in April and it's one of several West Glacier businesses getting ready for visitors.

The course usually doesn't open until May and at this time last year, the La Nina weather pattern held on well into June, really slowing things down at the course. But the weather seems to be cooperating this year, and that means Going-to-the-Sun road will open sooner.

Golf club general manager Andrew Lettrich said he thinks this is the best the course has ever looked, thanks to new mowers and lawncare methods.

"People come to this area mainly for the park and what it offers, but all the businesses around here kind of rely on that...we give them something other to do than drive the Sun Road," Lettrich said.
