WEST GLACIER - A veteran member of the Glacier National Park trail crew was seriously hurt in a fall on Tuesday, according to a park press release.
The 31-year-old woman was working on part of the Highline Trail and as her crew was returning to the Logan Pass trailhead, reports say she slid about 200 feet down a snowy trail and fell onto Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Three Rivers Ambulance and an air ambulance responded, meeting rain, wind and limited visibility on the way to the scene according to officials. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The Highline Trail continues to be closed from public access from Logan Pass to Haystack Butte because of snow.
Snow and winter weather conditions are still present in the upper elevations of the park and officials encourage visitors to take care or wait until the weather warms up.
