FRENCHTOWN- It's never too late to say thank you even if it's a year after a heroic deed.

Frenchtown celebrated more than a basketball win Saturday night as five teenage boys were honored for saving the lives of their fathers.

The teens received the Lifesaver Award by the Boy Scouts of America after they saved their fathers lives when the men suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning near Lima.

The boys say that while they are grateful for the award, they don't view themselves as heroes.

"I don't know if it is that deserving. I think anyone else would have done the same thing," Max Butler said.

"I feel honored to have it but I just did what anyone else would have done," added his brother Gus.

The boys fathers had fallen asleep with a propane heater on in their wall tent in far southwest Montana and the teens pulled the men out of the tent and called 911.

Their fathers say without out their sons help, they doubt they would be here today.

The Boy Scouts of America have awarded 6,000 people with the medal of merit since 1945.
