SPOKANE- Gonzaga has dipped into Western Montana for its latest basketball recruit.
Ryan Edwards, who just finished his junior year at Glacier High School in Kalispell, has reportedly given a verbal commitment to play for the Bulldogs. Gonzaga has one of the premier men's basketball programs in the west.
Edwards mother Lisa told CBS affiliate KREM-TV in Spokane that her 6'11" son gave a verbal commitment June 24th after his second visit to Gonzaga. KREM-TV reports that Lisa said Edwards fell in love with the Bulldog program and that it seemed to be a perfect fit.
Edwards averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3.0 blocks for the Wolfpack during his junior season. Edwards will be able to sign a letter-of-intent in November.
