EVERGREEN - A man who is accused of punching a neighbor down a flight of stairs causing his death plead not guilty in Flathead District Court Thursday.
David Day entered a not guilty plea to a charge of negligent homicide after an argument led to the death of 54-year-old Gerald Payne.
Court documents allege that Day punched Gerald Payne in the face, a blow which sent Payne down a flight of stairs, causing his death.
Court papers also state Payne and Day were both highly intoxicated at Day's second floor apartment and had argued.
Day could face 20 years in prison if he's convicted on the charge.
