KALISPELL- Toiletries are some things that can be hard to come by at local non profits.
AmeriCorps VISTA across the state have spent the past several days gathering donations for toilet paper, shampoo and non perishable food items.
Volunteers tabled at FVCC Tuesday asking for donations to benefit the Northwest Veterans Food Pantry, the Samaritan House, and the local VA clinic.
The state-wide service project is called The Great Roll Out 9/11. According to AmeriCorps, 9/11 has become one of the most charitable days of the year.
Volunteers for the project said it's the perfect time to help out.
"The local non profits don't have as many resources as they could have and, like at the Northwest Veterans Food Pantry they only have the ability to give each veteran one roll of toilet paper a month, which you can imagine is not very much. So we're trying to help out," said Kimbra Buerschaper.
Volunteers also tabled at Albertson's and Smith's in Kalispell until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday collecting donations.
