KALISPELL- The city of Kalispell gets a big bump to boost the business of tourism. Flathead Valley residents will soon be able to fly to the San Francisco area on a direct flight through Allegiant Airlines.
The company made the announcement Tuesday at Glacier Park International Airport (GPIA) about their new non-stop service to the San Francisco Bay Area through the Oakland International Airport.
Allegiant says they are offering an introductory fare to the Bay area for as low as $39 one way. According to GPIA Director Cindi Martin, this is a perfect fit for Kalispell.
"It is significant, and for this particular airport, actually the bay area is a strong market. You take the three airports that service the area and individually they are in our top twenty and you group them together and they are in our top ten. So it's already a strong market."
The flight to Oakland will also be available through Missoula, Billings and Bozeman.
