PABLO- The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) are sending manpower east of the divide to help with controlling the massive grass fires.

CSKT spokesman Rob McDonald says the tribe dispatched four fire engines to help the Blackfeet Tribe in the aftermath of the massive fires that started Wednesday.

The units will help gain final control on the fires that have burned thousands of acres, and with mop-up operations until they're no longer needed.

McDonald says the tribe was also sending three "overhead" supervisors to help manage fire crews on scene.

CSKT has a formal agreement to provide mutual aid to the Blackfeet Reservation and is able to dispatch units more readily during the "off" fire season.
