COLUMBUS - A controlled burn apparently got out of hand near Columbus, according to neighbors.
The fire started out as a controlled burn around 1 p.m., but was reported to have grown out of hand by 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The blaze, which burned an area five miles in on Countryman Road, was reportedly extinguished around 4:45 p.m.
The fire did threaten one structure but did not cause damage and appeared to get out of hand due to the windy conditions.
