BOZEMAN- The Montana State Bobcats wasted little time putting away an inferior opponent this time, scoring 21 points in the first quarter en route to a 41-16 win over Northern Colorado Saturday afternoon.
Denarius McGhee threw for 387 yards and two touchdowns, including one to Tray Robinson for the 4th consecutive game to open the season. Cody Kirk carried the ball 19 times for 89 yards and two first quarter TD's. Tanner Bleskin also had another strong outing, catching 10 balls for 116 yards.
The Bears did not get a first down until the first play of the 2nd quarter, but then put up 10 straight points to cut the deficit to 21-10. McGhee however put the Cats back up 28-10 with a 7-yard TD run with 2:33 to play before halftime.
MSU scored on six of its first eight possessions, scoring five touchdowns.
With the win, the Cats are now 4-0 on the season, and 1-0 in the Big Sky. They travel to Southern Utah next Saturday for their first conference road game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm MDT.
