WHITEFISH - U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner was in Whitefish on Wednesday night for an invitation only fundraiser for U.S. Congressional candidate Ryan Zinke.
The Congressman from Ohio arrived around 6 p.m. at a private residence for the invitation only event.
Supporters paid $1,000 just to get in the door, $2,600 for photos, and $10,000 to participate in a VIP Roundtable discussion.
This is the second time the Boehner has visited the Flathead Valley to stump for Republican candidates.
Zinke's opponent, Democrat John Lewis wasn't far away, visiting Kalispell.
Lewis says its only a coincidence that he and Boehner were both in the Flathead, and he tells us the high-priced event is not the type of fundraising he's planning.
"Over 70% of the money we've raised is from Montana. That's something I'm very proud of. That's what we're going to continue to do. This is a Montana campaign. I'm looking for Montana support, and that's what we're focusing on," Lewis told us.
Lewis says he is traveling the state to highlight businesses that provide good-paying jobs.
