KALISPELL- The man who was mauled by a bear on Friday remains in the hospital, but a staff member told us he's doing well.
A black bear attacked the man Friday morning while he was camping in the Black Bear Drainage of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. He was transported to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center by ALERT helicopter.
A special Human Wildlife Attack Response Team was able to find and kill the bear they believe was responsible for the attack within six hours.
KRMC hospital staff said the man did have surgery for his injuries, but couldn't specify how badly hurt he was. They said the man is in good spirits and his medical condition is listed as good.
