MISSOULA- The Missoula shelter AniMeals has 1,000 large animals are in desperate need of food.
Saturday was their second day of their emergency donation drive where 15 volunteers and numerous employees accepted donations for a large animal rescue operation.
The operation, who wishes to remain anonymous called AniMeals and said they had less than a weeks food supply for their animals which includes bison, camels and other animals.
On Friday AniMeals raised $1,300 and they hope to raise more money and food over the next few days. Warehouse Manager Steph Kassner says the community is key to the success of the project.
"People don't want to see hungry animals out there and be left pretending there wasn't a problem. So they want to help be part of the solution."
AniMeals will have a semi parked at its Missoula warehouse on Sunday and Monday and they need donations like hay, even bails if you can load them, oats, livestock feed and money.
AniMeals is located just off Broadway on Rankin Street.
