POLSON - The Polson Rotary Club is selling raffle tickets for the annual Festival for Youth.

The Club is donating $15,000 to the city of Polson for work on the playground area at Riverside Park where many kids recreate year-round.

ST. IGNATIUS- Some people in St. Ignatius are upset with the poor notification method used concerning the water boiling order that has sent at least one person to the hospital.

The mayor says the city has to test the water on a monthly basis. So on July 19th, they pulled out water samples and sent them off for testing.

Mission Valley Power rates to increase

POLSON - Mission Valley Power's current kilowatt-hours energy rate contract with the Bonneville Power Administration is set to end next year and a new one will begin.

MVP has enjoyed a low rate contract with Bonneville Power for the last 10 years. With the current contract ending, MVP has signed a new 20 year contract for power delivery but the exact price is not known.

RONAN - Chicken is on the menu, for bears as wildlife managers across Montana say they are dealing with bears frequenting homes with livestock.

"We've been trying to get this bear since mid-May. She has hit five other chicken coops around and a pig pen," said Confederated Salish and Kootenai Wildlife Biologist Stacy Courville.

STEVENSVILLE - Emergency crews were called to the scene of a propane explosion in Stevensville on Thursday afternoon.

One man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following blast on Illinois Bench Road which apparently happened after a man punctured a propane tank.

The explosion happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. and fire crews were dispatched to the scene just north of Stevensville.

St. Ignatius infant battles eye cancer, needs donations

ST. IGNATIUS - A local family needs help after their 10-month old was re-diagnosed with eye cancer.

Braylon Coville has battled retina glaucoma since he was only two months old. The family held a fundraiser in St. Ignatius to raise money for the frequent travels to Portland for treatment.

Braylon's sister and mother both battled the same eye cancer and the family says they are extremely thankful for any support.

Drifter convicted for stealing Polson home

POLSON - It only took a Lake County jury about an hour to convict an out of state drifter for stealing a Polson home. Brent Arthur Wilson was convicted of theft, deceptive practices and tampering with public records information.

He is accused of trying to steal a Polson area home by filing fake legal documents claiming he owns the property.

Funeral set for Ronan man killed in logging accident

HOT SPRINGS - Funeral services for the Ronan man killed by a falling tree have been set for this Saturday July 17th.

The 71-year old Ronan man has died from severe injuries he sustained in a logging accident which happened near Hot Springs.
