GREAT FALLS - President Obama met with CEO's of some of the country's largest insurance companies on Tuesday, talking about ways to implement healthcare reform.

BOZEMAN - Matt Kazan from Senator Max Baucus's office was in Bozeman on Wednesday talking about the benefits and what he calls myths people have about President Obama's health care bill.

HELENA - State health department officials say that the federal health reform bill will expand the number of people qualifying for Medicaid.
Prior to the health reform bill, families qualifying for Medicaid made annual wages totaling 33% of the federal poverty level, but now with the new health care bill, families can make up to 133% of the federal poverty level.

HELENA - According to the recently-passed federal healthcare bill, national healthcare exchanges must be up and running by the year 2014.

BIGFORK - Representatives from the citizen legislature of Montana have sent a letter to attorney general Steve Bullock's office.
The letter, sent last Monday, is asking Bullock to join the lawsuit against the federal government regarding the recent passing of the health care bill. Bigfork republican representative Scott Reichner tells us his constituents are not happy with the passing of the bill and many fear the federal government is not focusing on the most important issues.

The H1N1 flu outbreak we've heard so much about last year could be declared officially over on Tuesday.
An expert panel that advises the World Health Organization will meet Tuesday morning to decide if the pandemic has ended, or if it's still in force.
Lab tests have confirmed 18,000 deaths caused by the flu. The panel's decision will be made public on Tuesday.

BOZEMAN - The H1N1 influenza hasn't been a problem around the state of Montana lately, but there's no telling when it could make a comeback.
Federal health officials are worried that H1N1 could make a comeback in the summer and believe people should protect themselves by getting vaccinated.

HELENA - Two Gallatin County residents have been diagnosed with H1N1 influenza, according to the Gallatin City-County Health Department. The illnesses have been confirmed by the state public health lab.
Two other cases of H1N1 have been confirmed in Montana this week, one in Madison County and another one in Missoula County according to the health department, which says it will continue to monitor for influenza-like illness in Gallatin County.

FORT BENTON - The Chouteau County Department of Public Health is reporting a lack in those vaccinated against H1N1.
Officials say that only 732 people have received the shot, which is roughly 10% of the county's population. However, reports show the majority of children in the county are fully protected from the virus due to a push in the schools for the second booster shot.
